Maple was established in 2008 as an Oregon-based learning and financial strengthening organization.

As a learning organization, we learn from the wisdom of communities across the world about ways they build and sustain their own resilience. 

As a financial strengthening organization, we co-design and implement, with communities, ways to strengthen their own economies while preserving the environments upon which they depend.

We work closely with underserved communities

to develop collectively-led economies and capacities that strengthen social, cultural, and ecological resilience.

What we have learned with villagers in Uganda (since 2008) and indigenous Mapuche communities in Chile, (since 2013) has prepared us to better assist persons in our own neighborhoods here at home in Oregon.
